Philadelphia has sentenced more children to spend the rest of their lives in prison than any other city on the planet. This is our city’s painful legacy. It must not be our future.
After resentencing hearings, and with Parole Board recommendations, formerly life-sentenced children who were incarcerated for decades are coming home and contributing to our city. As long as the potential exists in our state for children to be prosecuted as adults, we will work to end it.
Read Raequan’s story here.  In 2020, we will create meaningful opportunities for children and former Juvenile Lifers returning home from jail and prison to build community, to heal, and to lead our efforts to end the prosecution of children as adults in Pennsylvania.

We aim to raise $100,000 by December 31st in support of this goal. We are currently 87% of the way there, and are truly humbled by your response. To those of you who have already contributed, thank you so much for your support.

We need an additional $12,290 to reach our goal. If you are in a position to give before midnight tomorrow, please give generously. Will you join with those who have already given, and make your tax-deductible donation right now? We need your help to make 2020 a powerful year of justice, of healing, and of transformation for young people, Juvenile Lifers and their families.
Wishing you a joyous and just new year,

The YSRP Team
