Bring art into your life.

Like most of us, I have reluctantly migrated to doing everything online. The art world is no exception, and while museums, galleries and artists' studios are closed to the public, they have gone to extraordinary lengths to showcase artists' works online. And for now we can all enjoy the content from the confines of our homes.

My goal as an art advisor and with this newsletter is to help people navigate the art market and cultivate their appreciation, understanding and love of art. My goal is to bring art into people's lives whether looking to acquire art for personal enjoyment or for investment; whether for home, office and public spaces.

You will find in this newsletter highlights from the art world based on what I feel are the best shows and interviews, and important news of the moment. I hope you will enjoy this newsletter as much as I have enjoyed putting the content together, and that you will find reading it insightful.

I would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me by replying to this email, or via my website with your feedback and/or questions.
Let's talk about Art!

Highlights from the Art World
Gallery Shows & Art Fairs
  • Artist Diedrick Brackens first solo show at Jack Shainman Gallery. "Blessed are the mosquitoes" is a series of intricately woven and vibrant tapestries by the artist.
  • Frieze New York 2020 is launching an online only edition Frieze Viewing Room a new digital platform that will be open to the public from May 8-15. I look forward to exploring the VIP previews May 6-7. Over 200 galleries from across the globe will present works by established and emerging artists in a virtual gallery space. Follow my highlights on Instagram.

Artists Interviews & Video:

  • Art in Lockdown interview of artist Jeffrey Gibson. Art in Lockdown is a series of artists interviews produced by Gallery Kavi Gupta in Chicago
  • A behind the scenes video looking at Kehinde Wiley's working process that accompanies his current exhibition The Yellow Wallpaper on view at William Morris Gallery, London (February 22 - July 12, 2020)
Shown below: I Have Strength Left by artist Jeffrey Gibson

Museums: Whitney Museum of American Art

I highly recommend watching the video accompanying the current exhibition Vida Americana: Mexican Muralist remake American Art 1925-1945.
While I can't wait and go see Donald Judd at the MoMA and Gerhard Richter at the Met Breuer, I did not find the online content nearly as user friendly or enjoyable to navigate.
