JUST ONE MINUTE
Jesus says, “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” (John 3:34) “The family is a school of deeper humanity; a school of love.” (St. John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio) In the family, we all learn what it means to be a human person. We learn the deepest values that we hold. As parents, we are teaching our children innumerable things. It is important to be aware and understand what we are passing on to them not only intentionally, but also through osmosis: to be attentive to what we are teaching simply by the way we are: how we drive, solve conflict, speak to and about our spouse, how we talk to and about our children.
Reflection: Spend some time with Heavenly Father today and visit with him about our families. Explore how they are schools of humanity and love, and how they could improve in any area.
